Just another sneak peak of what all I’ve been working on.  From construction to design, to creating an active and passive home, these are a few more sketches that will be incorporated in my final portfolio.  Enjoy!  Lotti di amore!

Sneak Peak of my creation .. Ciao Ragazzi!  Here is a sneak peak of things to come in the next few weeks.  The BAIN of my existence but rightfully so since I have learned far more than I had expected in this semester.  These are a few drawings of a converted Passive House in which I had posted previously, (The Barn in Siena) in the first half of the semester.  They are just simple drawings of what the conversion will be but would love advice and expertise as I create the final images for my portfolio.  Grazie a Mille!  and Lotti di Amore!  (thanks a million and lots of love!)

Portofino a place where stars relax and a magical place to where I hope to go again!  Ciao Ragazzi!!  Gosh its been a while since I have written, but with the ever taunting task of grad work, and midterms, and well just life, things have gotten a little busy on my end.  Thankfully I had a wonderful week with my mother and sister where we traveled and I almost had a heart attack driving through the streets of Genova and Florence, but all in all, it was a much needed relaxing vacation indeed!  Enough, that my newest development for this half of the semester is that of an Active house, one that creates energy, and my place of interest is the hillside/seascape of Portofino.  All will be posted once the semester ends.  Can’t believe I have 6 more weeks left here!!

Worlds largest Lindt Chocolate ball .. umm YES PLEASE! Still questioning how you get into one of those.

Another week and more inspirational work.  This week was by far one of my favorites. Inspired by a 5 second doodle of mine to render something that reminds me of nature, this photoshop gal has crash coursed her way into Illustrator (with help from @BreezyBrieBrie an absolute amazing up and coming designer!) and have created this little ditty as my Greeninspirational wall paper.
Il primo prodotto was simply a doodle of a tree and was transformed into my own sort of representation of how things today are being overused.  It shows as time passes by and our need for natural resources continues to implode, (especially paper), that the greenery of trees and plants will deplete and thus start to fade.  Though, the color scheme is simple; Variations of green in contrast to cream, to me,  it is the movement as to how our environment will fade as we take advantage of whats around us.  Cities have become less green due to over population and over development as well as rain forests around the world due to deforestation. In a sense, it is a warning to how dull and simplified things will become if we continue the route we have for these past hundred years.

New project; new meaning.  To this, I am utterly excited and overwhelmed.  This is my newest project for one of my classes here and in all words said, Its all for me.  With the help of my amazing professors (ie. amazing architects), we are asked to create a new vacation home with the bones of this beautiful farm house located near Siena.  Our plans are to restore this into a functional home, remember, this is all from scratch, and remain within the LEED and eco-friendly parameters in retaining the all over nostalgia of this beautiful historical barn.  I am now becoming a semi-architect.

Ciao Ragazzi!  Sorry it has been a little bit since the last post, but work work work has been my montra for the past few days.  Never a dull moment.

Through this time I have had thoughts about all that is around me.  Things that are constantly changing within my new life here in Italia and things that I’ve had to become accustomed to that I believe we all take for granted in the states.  Simple pleasures like sitting down and enjoying a meal, (no to go food), walking the streets and seeing so many new things, people watching, and enjoying the open air.  This past weekend was the first time since I was in Scotland in ‘07, that I utilized the train system here.  And all in all, it was a pleasurable experience.  I don’t see why, other than the fact that we have such a large country, that we as americans never continued the concept of electric cars.  Yes, there are systems that run up and down the East and west coast, which were my main mode of transportation when I was in my junior year of high school, but in large, our thoughts and ideals are to “go go go” and keep on going and get things done as fast as we can.  Eat on the run, email by hand, be connected with the world on so many levels that we don’t ever enjoy all that surrounds us or just being in the “quiet” zone.  Though its great to think that with a push of a button, we can connect with friends and family all over the world while we are walking down the street, and that HAS saved me on many occasion loosing my location here in Italy, but all in all, is it really worth it?  Do any of you ever just check out even when you’re not on vacation?

Thoughts?
